For each video and screen recording uploaded by respondents, you’ll see a 'Transcript' tab on each upload.

How to view the Transcript

You can view the transcript from the Board view, Timeline view and AI View.


In Board view, either click on the 'Transcript' button on the card or click directly on the video and select the 'Transcript' tab.


In Timeline view, click on the 'Transcript' tab.

As the video/ screen recording is playing, the text of the sentence that is currently playing will be highlighted while the respondent is talking. 

You can click on a sentence to jump to a specific part of the respondents transcript.



Autoscroll

When enabled, the Autoscroll function means that the transcript view will always stick or skip to the point of the video where the respondent is currently speaking or where the text is highlighted in pink.


When disabled, this will allow you to freely scroll down through the transcript and will not force you to stay at the point where the respondent is currently speaking or where the text is highlighted in pink.




Editing a Transcript

To edit a transcript in Board or Timeline view:

1. Click on the Edit button

2. Alter the text that needs to be corrected; you can play / pause the video while correcting each sentence by clicking on the play / pause button next to the relevant sentence (see screenshot below). 

3. Click on Save before leaving the page to ensure your edits are saved.




Trim Video/ How to Download a clip

You can trim a part of a video/ screen recording by:

  1. Click on the Trim Video button below each video/ screen recording. 
  2. 2 pointers will appear on the timeline of the video; drag each pointer to the select the start and end of the exact clip you wish to trim and download. 
  3. When trimming the video, you can position the 'circle' to the start pointer and click on play; this will help in making sure you are at the correct point.
  4. Once you have accurately positioned the start and end pointers, click on 'Download Clip' and a trimmed clip will be saved to your computer (usually the Downloads folder).
